Push Hacker 2
Remap buttons, pads, and the touch strip on Push 1, 2 & 3 — without leaving Note or Session mode.
Push Hacker 2 is a Max for Live device created in collaboration with Fastlane Music School in Montpellier and Soundmanufacture. It gives you the freedom to design your own custom workflow on Ableton Push 1, 2 & 3. Reassign buttons, pads, and encoders to any Live parameter - from clip launching and track selection to device or mixer control — while staying in Note or Session mode.

Push Hacker
Push Hacker 2 has been built from the ground up to deliver better performance and new, sophisticated features. It expands the capabilities of Push 1, Push 2, Push 3, and Push 3 Standalone, letting you adapt the controller to your personal workflow.
With Push Hacker 2, you can manually reassign any of Push’s controls — buttons, encoders, pitch bend, and matrix pads — to parameters in Live such as audio effects, MIDI effects, clip slots, mixer functions, or solo buttons. All of this works seamlessly while staying in Note Mode or Session Mode.
Push Hacker was designed around a core principle of live performance: you shouldn’t have to switch modes on your controller while playing. This ensures a spontaneous and expressive feel, closer to performing on an acoustic instrument.
Features
- Map buttons, encoders, pads & touch strip to any parameter
- Move the clip grid, select tracks, solo/record/play clips (only available in Live 11)
- Map up to 8 parameters per pad, with ranges, inversion & colors
- Solo Tracks
- recording & playing clips
- draw curves for dlider parameters
Assign functions to pads, buttons & encoders
Map any Push control to the actions you use most—without leaving Note or Session mode. Select a pad, button, or encoder, choose the destination in Live, and fine-tune how it behaves.
- Select a control on Push (or click it in the grid).
- Pick the target in Live: Device parameter(s), Mixer (volume, pan, sends), Clips/clip slots, Track select/solo/arm, and more.
- Set behavior and feel: toggle vs. momentary, range, invert, color.
- (Optional) Multi-map up to 8 parameters to a single pad for expressive moves.
This lets you build a layout that matches your performance style - fast, direct, and always ready.
Map multiple parameters to one control
Each control on Push can handle more than one task. With Push Hacker 2 you can connect a single pad, button, or encoder to up to eight parameters in Live. Adjust ranges, set inversions, and choose colors to keep everything clear while performing. This way, one move can shape several aspects of your set at once.
Draw curves for dynamic control
Push Hacker 2 lets you create your own automation curves and link them to pads or encoders. Each curve can control up to four parameters at once, so a single gesture can bring complex movement into your set. Whether you want smooth filter sweeps, rhythmic modulation, or evolving textures, curves make it quick to design and perform.
Integration with external devices
Push Hacker 2 can be combined with other Soundmanufacture devices to expand your creative setup:
The Skrätch Device comes free with Push Hacker and it enables you to get Scratch Effects with your Touchstrip of Ableton Push.
It’s easy to set up. Just insert the Skrätch Device inside the MAster Track and inside Push Hacker you have to assign the Skrätch Device on the Touchstrip.
