the Push Loopback Device is to record the midi into the track itself

So, to be honest this Device is a workaround to solve a problem, when Ableton Push is connected to Chord-O-Mat.

because Chord-O-Mat is connected directly to Push, it's not possible to receive (and record) notes to the input of the track.
The push loopback device, sends the notes back to the track, chord-o-mat is inside and you're able to record the notes that will trigger the chord inside chord-o-mat.

first you have to create a new Miditrack with the Push Loopback device inside.
in the routing select "no Input" in the input and on the output side route it to the track chord-o-mat is inside.

Set up the Push Loopback Device properly

1. activate the push loopback in the chord-o-mat window

2. learn midinotes to the clip slots

the Push Loopback Device works ONLY when the clipslots can receive midinotes. In this example only Chordslots 1, 6, 11 & 16 are working with the Push Loopback Device, 3 & 4 doesnt't work.

Please note, that it doesn't matter which notes are assigned to the clipslots.

standart mapping

If you’re using only Push it’s recommended to use the „Standart Mapping“ which maps automatically the white keys to the 16 Chordslots.
This is a quick way to map all clip slots to a midi note.

select "standart mapping"

all clipslots wil be mapped
